Feed grade zinc sulphate

 

Zinc is an important composition of many enzymes and hormones, also takes part in the metabolism of protein, carbohydrate and lipids. Symptoms of zinc deficiency are weaken appetite, slow growth, dry and cracked skin, disorderly thick hair, hair loss, and wound healing difficulties.   

Poultry

Zinc is very important to healthy growth of skin and feather of poultry animals. Lack of zinc causes poultry animals to shed fish scale like scurf frequently from their skin, especially their feet, it also causes disorderly growth of feather. Zinc deficiency in hen lowers hatching rate, suppresses growth of embryonated egg and increases mortality rate. lack of zinc in hens daily diet makes chicks weaken, unable to stand, unwilling to eat and drink, short of breath and breathe frequently. If the application ratios of calcium, Phytic acid and copper are increased in chicken feed, zinc application ratio must be increased accordingly. 

 

Swine

 

Requirement of zinc is closely related to calcium content in daily diet for swine, calcium affects the absorption of zinc sufficiently, high calcium content diet will induce and increase zinc deficiency in swine. Requirements of zinc content in feed varies in different countries quite greatly, it is approximately between 40ppm and 140ppm. China national standard is 78-110ppm. In comparision with other animals, zinc promotes healthy growth, raise appetite and digestive ability hence feed conversion rate. At the start of dieting, high zinc content feed should be fed to piglets (about 2000mg/kg, in the form of zinc oxide, for 14 days), to effectively prevent diarrhea; moreover, high zinc content promotes better growth than high copper content in feed. Principle symptom of deficiency in swine is "incomplete keratosis". Affected area extents from inner thigh to whole body, skin wrinkles and becomes rough,  forms Scab-like sclerosis, skin around eyes, mouth and Scrotum hardens and falls off, easily infected by prokaryotic microbe.

 

Aquaticulture

 

Zinc is a very important mineral to fish such as rainbow trout, carp ,American river catfish etc. 15-30ppm content in feed is enough for Rainbow trout and carp. Whereas, american river catfish requires at least 20ppm.
